GcSoft Geocaching Software

Cache Logger Assistant Upgrades

On January 12, changes were made to the format of the geocache pages on GC.com, which caused Cache Logger Assistant to no longer extract some information correctly.  Updates have been made to the program to correct these issues.

PLEASE NOTE: New issues with the GC site arose in April 2010. Please see here about how to upgrade to a version of Cache Logger that addresses this problem.

You can check which version of the program you have by selecting “About Cache Logger Assistant” in the Help menu. Fixes are only being provided for v1.2x and v1.3 users at this time. If you are a registered user of v1.0 or v1.1, please contact support@GeocachingSoftware.com for assistance.

If you are using v1.2 or v1.2a:
- Please download the patched v1.2b executable here.
- Extract CacheLogger.exe from the zip archive and put it in your Cache Logger directory, replacing your current executable.
- When you run the new executable, it should open as the registered version using your existing configuration file.

If you are using v1.3:
- Please download the patched v1.3a executable here.
- Extract CacheLogger.exe from the zip archive and put it in your Cache Logger directory, replacing your current executable.
- When you run the new executable, it should open as the registered version using your existing configuration file.

If you encounter problems, please contact support@GeocachingSoftware.com for assistance.

To our knowledge, Cache Logger Assistant and Coin Logger Assistant were the only programs affected by the GC.com changes, and both should now work as before. If you find a problem that has been missed, please let us know.

Thank you for your business,
